Capri - Rolex Cup 2021

The Rolex Capri Sailing Week starts from the Gulf of Naples on Monday, 10 May 2021 with the Maxi Yacht Capri Trophy, continues on Saturday, 15 May with the "Tre Golfi" Offshore Regatta (Three Gulfs) and ends on Thursday, 20 May with the famous award ceremony of the 2021 ORC European Championship in the famous Piazzetta Caprese.

As reported by Ansa.it, this year the Organizing Committee proposes a longer activity calendar due to the numerous participations, which will allow to host a greater number of boats in the port of Capri: 100 instead of 70 of the last year, with the regattas of Maxi separated from those of the European ORC.

The Championship begins in Naples on May 15, with the offshore test which coincides with the Regata dei Tre Golfi. The finishing point is in Capri, where the competitors will compete in three days of regattas on the buoys (18-19-20 May).

For the uninitiated, the “Regata dei Tre Golfi” is the historic regatta that begins at midnight on Saturday, 15 May amidst a thousand lights and under the eyes of the enchanting city of Naples. There are those who go out to sea and those who parade along the coast, leaving Procida on the left, while further, about forty miles in Ventotene there is the buoy for vintage boats. For all the others, you have to reach Ponza and from there take a turn for the the rocks of Li Galli, opposite from Positano. After about 150 miles of racing, the final finish line is the Island of Capri.

This year is the 66th Edition of the Regata dei Tre Golfi, which coincides with the offshore test of the 2021 ORC European Championship, also open to multihulls, vintage and classic boats and boats with only two crew members.

A week awaits us under the banner of National competition between Yachts, multihulls and sailing boats, where intelligence and technique are coordinated to achieve a single goal, to cover the race course in the shortest time and to come out as winners.
